Your District Council is working with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to carry out spot checks to make sure local businesses are COVID-secure.

The authority is also working alongside local public health authorities to support the understanding of any patterns in confirmed coronavirus cases in the area.

Early bird discount for new garden waste scheme

Early bird discounts are available now for Derbyshire Dales residents subscribing to a new garden waste collection scheme.

It costs a discounted £35 for Dales households that subscribe for the 2021/22 year to the garden waste service now – the equivalent of less than 68p a week.

Currently some scheduled recycling collections are happening and others aren't. We usually have five recycling crews collecting daily, but that number is currently reduced to one or two. Bin Collection Information from Derbyshire Dales District Council

Bin collections here in the Derbyshire Dales are being impacted by the coronavirus outbreak. Staff absences due to self-isolation measures mean garden waste collections will be suspended from Friday to enable our teams to focus on recycling and general household waste collections.

Food waste will be collected fortnightly - with household waste - rather than weekly.

Safety measures for Darley Bridge

New lights warning of approaching HGVs are set to be installed on the 3 roads leading to Darley Bridge.

Councillors will discuss the proposal at a meeting on 13 February. HJ Enthoven, a local firm, have agreed to pay for the cost of the signs, which will be £25,000.
