REFERENDUM RESULT

DARLEY DALE NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN

Following the referendum held on 21st January, we are pleased to announce that the Neighbourhood Plan was overwhelmingly voted in favour of. This means that the Neighbourhood Plan has been duly adopted and now forms part of the Derbyshire Dales Local Plan.

The results posted by the returning officer are as follows:
For the motion: 682
Against: 117
Thus a massive majority carried the vote on the day.

The Neighbourhood Plan has taken many years to come to fruition and has been the result of a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication by Darley Dale Town Council, their official advisors and local residents. As a result, we now have a legal document that must be taken in to account by the District Planning Authority, to help ensure that future developments consider our design principles and protect our landscape character.

What is a Neighbourhood Plan?

A Neighbourhood Plan is a new type of land use planning document prepared by a
Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group (NPSG) made up of residents and councillors.

It is a legal planning policy document .
